Room Use
The First Churches Meeting House at 129 Main Street is a major community center in downtown Northampton, serving the city and western Massachusetts. Over 1,200 people per week represent thirty five community groups and include: A.A., Alalon, Hampshire Choral Society, Scottish Country Dancing, workshops on racism, men overcoming violence, family planning, youth outreach, drug and alcohol prevention, domestic violence, prison reform, universal health care, community policy, and meetings of the Downtown Business Council.
Available spaces include: the Church Parlor; Lyman Hall (a large room serving as a banquet hall and and can host several hundred people for concerts, dances, etc.); smaller function rooms, on the lower level, accommodate groups such as A.A. and Alanon.
Our magnificently restored sanctuary,which has a capacity of over 900, is also available for rental for concerts, weddings, and the like. Contact us for technical specifications.
The Church can’t always promise space will be available. Church space is available to appropriate uses. All groups and events must be approved by members of a Church committee. A fee is requested for use; please contact us for details.
